Ability & Performance Program

6-12 months Prog | Specific to Persons over 60 years 

🔰Six Days of Training Per Week: 30 mins Daily 

  • Strength Training: 2 Days- Mondays & Wednesdays
  • Mobility Training: 2 Days- Tuesdays & Thursdays 
  • Cardiovascular Training: 2 Day- Fridays & Saturdays

🔰Stability Movements: 6 Days a Week: 15 mins 

🔰Walks: 6 Days a Week: Done as Exercise Snacks. Movement is medicine 

🔰Nutrition Coaching and Meal Planning: Guidance on Fueling & Providing the Body and the Mind with the right fuel: nutrients, vitamins and minerals. 

🔰Sleep Coaching & Management: with Comprehensive Sleep Assessments. There’s no health and wellness without quality sleep. The risk and certainty of injuries, poor recovery and poor physical and mental performance and poor aesthetics without optimal sleep is 100%. No one can get away with poor sleep! 

🔰Cognitive Exercises: What’s not challenged will not adapt and develop rather declines. Cognitive decline and diseases like Alzheimer’s can be avoided.

🔰Healing Psychological Trauma and Past Hurts: This is a sensitive area however it is necessary to revisit and heal unresolved wounds and empower yourself for a brighter and lighter future.

Program Notes

Strength Training Days: Mondays & Wednesdays- is meant to improve muscle quality and physical strength which is key for longevity, physical independence, insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation. When the human body is not challenged through resistance strength training then it cannot adapt to become stronger. 

Exercise is often considered a virtual fountain of youth if used in the right way. Muscle, for example, is a reservoir for anti-aging hormones that help to protect your DNA from oxidation. The research shows that you can stay younger, longer if you have more lean muscle on your body.

Mobility Training Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays- These specialised sessions focus on targeted stretches and movements to address specific areas that need improvement, including:

  • Injury rehabilitation and prevention
  • Correcting poor posture
  • Enhancing muscle coordination
  • Identifying and strengthening weak links discovered in your body

Through Mobility Training Days, we’ll work together to:

  • Improve your range of motion
  • Boost flexibility and balance
  • Enhance overall fitness
  • Support long-term longevity and wellness

Cardiovascular Training: Fridays & Saturdays- These sessions are designed to boost your longevity and healthspan. A strong cardiovascular system is a key indicator of overall health and longevity. Our expert-led sessions focus on:

  • Improving cardiovascular efficiency & healthy heart and lungs
  • Managing blood pressure & reduce the risk of heart diseases
  • Enhancing VO2 max (aerobic capacity)

Some of the Saturdays movements can be done in the comfort of your home on your own or online.

Stability Movements: 6 Days a Week: 15 mins 

The mother of all proximal stability is the core, which is essential for all ability, performance, coordination and prevention of pain such as lower back pain and knee pain.

The one on one or group sessions are designed to help seniors fall in love with the path of deep healing with patience and compassion and respect for their own journey with the understanding that healing doesn’t happen overnight but it’s the journey of taking back your power. 

Scientific fact: Grip strength and VO2 max (vo2 max- this is the amount of oxygen the body can absorb & use during exercise. It measures the aerobic fitness levels) are currently the main predictors of lifespan & longevity: quality of life. Grip strength & calf size & strength are also the main predictors of cognitive health/decline in senior individuals. Legs strength and grip strength is also how we interact with the world (standing/walking/movement/touching/eating).

Just as we wouldn’t want to enter this phase of life without a secure financial foundation, similarly, we shouldn’t transition into this stage without a solid foundation of strength and fitness. Having a strong physical base is just as crucial as having sustainable finances, ensuring a stable and thriving life ahead.
